How can I overcome the convergence issues in severely discontinuous problems?
If you have a problem with severely discontinuous behavior such as concrete cracking or frictional sliding, you can use discontinuous control. This option is available through GUI and input files (see Figures 1 and 2). Use this option only when needed because it may increase run time.
