Hello everyone! To simulate cylindrical turning, I’m using Abaqus. The final kinetic energy is always larger than 5% of the internal energy, regardless of how I set the mass scaling factor (16,100,256, etc.). Finally, I remove the mass scaling, which reveals that the kinetic energy is larger than 5% of the internal energy. How can I configure the model to satisfy the 5% requirement? Thanks!

Hello,
The kinetic energy might be greater at the beginning of the analysis, and that’s okay. If it’s steel greater then, I recommend increasing the time period.
